BG FuZion

BG FuZion was created in late 2020 by Director Christopher H. Cherry as an outreach and development program of Xclaim, Inc. to promote physical togetherness in the LGBTQIA+ community and create opportunities for local drag entertainers to perform with quality professional entertainers.

To avoid replicating existing services, the Director consulted with local community leaders and performers including Gia Hall, Geneva LaDiva, India Divine, and Queen Venus Knight.  Although all four of these community leaders made valuable contributions to the creation of BG FuZion, Queen Venus Knight committed the most time and attention to the development and realization of BG FuZion and earned the title of Co-Founder.

Planning expanded to include other existing local drag groups, and with the collaboration of Joey Upchurch & Sapphire Mylan from "The Illusions of Bowling Green" and of Gorgina George, Brittanica & Serenity Sweets of "The Framed Fatale" (now "The PrimaDonnas"), BG FuZion went from page to stage!

After more than six months of research and planning, BG FuZion was established on May 1, 2021, with the first monthly production, a benefit show for Xclaim, Inc.

Soon after establishment, BG FuZion programming expanded to include the BG Pride Pageant System, with the introduction of the Miss BG Pride Pageant in October 2021 (see the "BG Pride Pageant" tab for details).

In January 2022, BG FuZion programming expanded further to introduce BG Family FuZion - family-friendly productions for all ages.  This program ensures inclusivity and diversity in a wholesome, fun, safe environment for families.

In the first year, BG FuZion produced 12 monthly adult shows (featuring 4 Open Stage Drag shows with Audience Choice Award winners), 2 Family FuZion shows, the first-ever Pride Pageant, 2 Pride Court events (the first-ever Community Drag Business Meeting AND the first-ever Community Pride Prom), promoted 32 performers with bookings, encouraged support for survivors of conversion therapy, and supported a massive community-wide disaster relief effort.

Many of these collaborations are on-going, and BG FuZion continues to value community connections to promote unity.

With community support and performer interest, BG FuZion continued to grow and solidify during the second year to establish an Official Cast.

Balancing the original vision of professional quality and local performance opportunities, BG FuZion carefully crafted a cast of diverse performers with a variety of styles, skills, talents, levels of experience and unique perspectives.

With Monthly and Rotating Cast members, as well as Open Stage Drag, BG FuZion continues to present a fresh production each month featuring seasoned professionals, rising stars, and local amateurs.
